Primary Care Alberta (PCA) is committed to transparency and has complied with legislation to disclose compensation for employees receiving over the 2024 threshold amount of $159,833 in compensation as outlined in the Public Sector Compensation Transparency Act. The Government of Alberta provides more information on the Act.
For 2024, the threshold amount set by the Alberta Government will affect employees earning more than $159,833. PCA is required by legislation to disclose compensation information for the 2024 calendar year by June 30, 2025.
The compensation information released is total annual compensation, which includes base salary, overtime, shift premiums, weekend premiums, on-call pay, sick pay, vacation pay, benefits and relevant severance. This disclosure also includes board members, regardless of the amount of compensation, severance or benefits they have received in the past year.
The deadline to apply for an exemption to the next disclosure is November 1 annually — anyone granted an exemption will not be included in the next annual disclosure. Note that there are very stringent government guidelines for granting an exemption. The government communicates directly with those who have applied for an exemption with those details.
Other (non-monetary benefits)
If total compensation exceeds the 2024 threshold of $159,833, non-taxable benefits, including the public sector body’s share of pension, dental and health spending accounts and other benefits must also be disclosed.
Compensation
Income plus taxable benefits paid to a member or employee. Excludes severance.
Severance
Includes payments when employment or member’s appointment ends or retiring allowance.

Primary Care Alberta was created in 2024. It had one employee during that year, and no employees meeting the threshold for disclosure. As a result, a Nil Report Form has been posted.
